Abstract

Children and adolescents experience homelessness at higher rates than point-in-time counts suggest. Many pediatricians see patients and their families who are unstably housed or homeless without being aware of their status. Through increased awareness of the health issues facing pediatric patients experiencing homelessness, pediatricians can identify those at risk and provide links to needed care and support services. This article reviews current data about homelessness among pediatric populations.
