Abstract

This brief describes how to establish a trauma-informed approach at the organizational and clinical levels. It is a product of the multi-site demonstration project called Advancing Trauma-Informed Care, which is led by the Center for Health Care Strategies. The authors look at opportunities for improving care, reducing health care costs for patients with histories of trauma, and incorporating trauma-informed principles, which can lead to improved patient engagement, health outcomes, and provider and staff wellness.
