Abstract
This journal article outlines a study that surveys the current state of campus-based support programs for students who are foster care alumni. It focuses on program evaluation strategies whereas previous research mostly studied educational outcomes. Of the 81 programs surveyed, only 37% had conducted a formal evaluation and only 9% used outside evaluators. The authors recommend creating a national network of researchers and practitioners who are committed to evaluating the effectiveness of these support programs for foster care youth.
